According to the most recent information from the Kansas Department of Agriculture, the impact Cherokee County agriculture and agriculture related sectors directly contribute $357 million in output and 976 jobs in the county's economy. Including indirect and induced effects, agriculture and agriculture related sectors have a total impact of $442 million in output. These numbers are pulled from 27 agriculture and agriculture related sectors. Cherokee County's grain farming sector is the top contributor in output with $80 million in total output. While beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots and dual-purpose ranching and farming supports the most jobs in the county with 273 jobs.
