Cherokee County

Health and Wellness

The Health and Wellness Advocates is a coalition that meets monthly to address and target the health issues taking place in Cherokee County. The group has worked with schools to promote physical activity, conducted education to early childhood providers to address overall health, and works with families to help children have a healthy start. The coalition is currently a planning grant recipient for the Chronic Disease Risk Reduction grant, working to provide education and establish partnerships to reduce tobacco use and secondhand smoke exposure. The meetings are open for anyone to attend that has an interest in improving the health of Cherokee County.  If you are interested in attending or would like any additional information about the The Health and Wellness Advocates coalition, please contact Christina Holmes at 620-429-3849.
